Gaia, a 19-year-old MICA student and new friend, recently hooked up with Keith Schweitzer from No Longer Empty to collab on a pulldown in Chinatown. Pretty sick work.

“It’s pretty amazing that our society has reached a point where the effort necessary to
is considered to be less effort than what it takes to just wash the spoon when you’re done with it.”
Just think about that the next time you grab a spoon or coffee stirrer in the morning.

Hood Nigga (hip hop dan’s Sweetest Taboo Edit) - Just got this in the mail. Def a nice lil edit. Give it a listen. Give Hip Hop Dan a high five.
Here’s a quick edit I did this morning of Gorilla Zoe’s “Hood N***a” blended with Sade’s “The Sweetest Taboo.” Thought it worked pretty well, nothing fancy…feel free to pass along if you like.

My tumblarity is at an all-time low. Perhaps writing about this band, Lands and Peoples, will bring me back into the limelight. This is my first attempt at reviewing a band/show so bear with me.
I had the pleasure of seeing Lands and Peeps play at the Zodiac last night and all I can say is that I was totally blown away. I’ve known the bands front man, Caleb Moore, for a few years now but had never really listened to his group. In fact, I had a completely different image of L&P and much lower expectations. Sorry Caleb! I couldn’t have been more wrong. I found Caleb’s angelic moaning to be surprisingly catchy and likable. Apparently I’m not the only one as the predominately female crowd gently swooned with him during ‘Ukelele’. The band’s drummer, Beau Cole, did an excellent job at complimenting the shoegaze meets Beach Boys sound. While Amanda Willis offered the perfect amount of subtlety using an array of instruments including the xylophone, clarinet, and piano. My only complaints were with the sound quality however this is a given when seeing someone play at the Zodiac. I highly recommend checking them out, particularly on a day like today. They have an incredibly attractive sound and are loads of fun to watch. Visit their site and spend the 5 bucks. So worth it.
Visit their Myspace, make yourself a cup of tea, put on your best warm thing, and nuzzle up with someone nice.

Probably one of the best things I’ve seen this year. Way to go Google.
Cute-ass Google commercial. Little do people know, Google will some day be implanting microchips in your brain.

Checkout Jake’s new picture. He looks so growed up.
I feel like most of these people graduated from MICA. I swear I’ve seen them before.
Thanks Bwent

“It is a sad day today but due to low sales globally in analogue turntables a decision to stop production has been made on Technics Turntables. For Australia this means we will receive our last shipment in March” Ian North, spokesperson, Panasonic Australia”
What does this mean? It means you better get your hands on a fresh pair of 1200’s before they’re all gone. That’s right, Panasonic is discontinuing production on all 1200 and 1210’s. :(
